Chickens & ducks have become increasingly popular as pets & production animals in recent years. We routinely see small backyard flocks and individual poultry and waterfowl as patients. We treat many common disorders such as upper respiratory infections, pododermatitis (“bumblefoot”), wound care, impacted crops, and parasites such as lice, mites and intestinal worms. We provide routine preventative care such as fecal testing, deworming, lice/mite treatment recommendations, and Marek’s vaccination.

We provide basic routine care for many pet small mammals. We will routinely spay and neuter rabbits and guinea pigs, provide nail & teeth trimming services, and investigate basic diseases such as upper respiratory infections, wounds, and parasites. However, these pets are very sensitive and their care can become quite specialized. Thus, for illnesses requiring more extensive diagnostics and therapeutics, we strongly recommend treatment with a veterinarian who specializes in exotics and small mammals and we are happy to provide referrals.
